Here we go again. Another beauty advent calendar. This had to be preordered and it didn't take long for it to be sold out. It's super hyped up as the best beauty calendar you can buy. As with my last review (click here to view), I'm not reviewing the products, just giving a first impression on the contents of the advent calendar. My rating scale (from excited to not excited) is 👍Thumbs up | Meh | 👎Thumbs down. Enjoy!

Day 1 - Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser

Size: Deluxe sample 30ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: Kate Somerville products always excites me! Keen to try.

Day 2 - Color WOW Dream Coat

Size: Deluxe sample 50ml

Rating: Meh

Thoughts: Never heard of this, it says it's some kind of hair product that dehumidifies your hair. Doesn't smell like your typical hair products. I'm not sure but will still give it a go.

Day 3 - Illamasqua Hydra Setting Spray

Size: Deluxe sample 30ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: I've heard of this and apparently its good. I've never used Illamasqua products before so this will be a great introduction to the brand.

Day 4 - Caudalie Vinosource-Hydra

Size: Sample 15ml

Rating: Meh

Thoughts: Not sure if this will be right for my skin type but I am excited to give it a go! Only voted Meh as this is yet another smallish sample.

Day 5 - Aveda botanical repair

Size: Sample 25ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: I'm starting to see a trend, mostly smaller samples. Although the case I have heard Aveda products are fantastic for your hair so I'll definitely be giving this a go.

Day 6 - Delilah Lip Line in Buff

Size: Full size

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: Looks creamy, the colour reminds me of Charlotte Tilburry's Pillowtalk lip liner

Day 7 - Omorovisza Refining Facial Polisher

Size: Deluxe sample 30ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: I have wanted to try this brand for the longest time! It's a green exfoliator I'm assuming? Skincare almost always gets a thumbs up from me so perfect!

Day 8 - Philip Kingsley Elasti-Styler

Size: Deluxe sample 40ml

Rating: 👎Thumbs down

Thoughts: I gave it a whiff and it smells like baby powder

Day 9 - NARS Blush in Orgasm

Size: Tiny

Rating 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: I LOVE this blush! but it is tiny

Day 10 - Rituals Candle

Size: Small candle

Rating: 👎Thumbs down

Thoughts: My candle came like out of the jar? Maybe it's faulty. The scent I'm not a personal fan off. It's very floral and strong. Might be better when burned.

Day 11 - Shiseido Ultimune

Size: Sample 10ml

Rating: Meh

Thoughts: I'm not sure what this is HAHA I'm confused.

Day 12 - Percy & Reed Wonder Balm

Size: Sample 30ml

Rating: Meh

Thoughts: This one looks decent though. I'll give it a go for sure. Meh rating only because it's another hair product rather than maybe a makeup product?

Day 13 - Iconic London Illuminator

Size: Tiny 2.8ml

Rating: Borderline Thumbs Up

Thoughts: Just as I wrote I'd like a makeup product the universe has answered! Very small but I am sure a little goes a long way. Excited to try it out.

Day 14 - AHC Essential Real Eye Cream for Face

Size: Sample 10ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: YES! I have been wanting to try this for such a long time! Apparently it's a face cream that has the same amazing properties as eye creams (more concentrated as the area around your eyes is more sensitive). Triple thumbs up!! Okay I must admit I am unsure if this is Day 14's product or Day 23 as they packed me 2 day 14's... so please skip to Day 23 here if you're curious.

Day 15 - Ren Overnight Glow Dark Spot Sleeping Cream

Size: Sample 10ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: Excited but kinda bummed about the size. Still excited to give this a go.

Day 16 - Bubble Rhubarb and Custard Bath Bomb

Size: Full size

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: Cannot go wrong with a bath bomb. Who doesn't love a bath?

Day 17 - This Works Stress Check Mood Manager

Size: Sample? 10ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: I enjoy this brand's products, great aromatherapy. Thumbs up!

Day 18 - Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub

Size: Sample 40ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: Hey another hair product, I have never tried a scalp scrub so perfect!

Day 19 - Rodial Dragon's Blood

Size: Sample 15ml

Rating: Meh

Thoughts: Says its a sculpting cream for the face and neck to help with sagging skin. Am I wrong or did Kylie Jenner hype this up aggggessss ago?

Day 20 - Bioeffect EGF Serum

Size: Tiny 3ml

Rating: Meh

Thoughts: I have no idea what this is. All it says on the packaging is "For improved appearance of skin" Personally, I am a bit confused.

Day 21 - Diego dalla Palma Eyeliner

Size: Full size

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: A simple black eyeliner, not much more to say about that.

Day 22 - Balance Me Beauty Sleep Hyaluronic Mist

Size: Sample 10ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: I'm very intrigued. It seems you spray it on your neck before bed and it helps with sleep? I'm not sure how to describe the smell except a before bed scent? Lavender maybe? It's definitely a strong, in your face smell, possibly give it a skip if your nosebuds are sensitive.

Day 23 - Avant Sumptous Glycolic Acid Hand Balm

Size: Full size 50ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: Looks like it could be a great hand cream. I'll definitely add it to my list of products to try.

Day 24 - Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash

Size: Deluxe sample 30ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: From the last beauty calendar I learnt that Elemis products are quite pricey but great quality. I'm carrying over that thought because this looks to be a good product. It says it's a skin smoothing cleanser and there is a warning on the back to use SPF. I'd say it's safe to assume its some type of chemical exfoliator.

Day 25 - ESPA Clean and Green Detox Mask

Size: Full size 55ml

Rating: 👍Thumbs up

Thoughts: Out of everything that I've mentioned, this is the one I'm most excited for. It smells like a spa! Super excited.

So, is it worth it?

Umm, sadly I'm leaning towards not worth it. Don't get me wrong, nothing excites me more than testing new products and that's honestly what I believe is the point of these calendars - to really give you a wide variety of products, from new brands perhaps, to try out. But I'm not sure, I feel as if most of the items included in this year's LookFantastic Beauty Advent Calendar were so targeted toward only serums and hair products.

Although that's the case, I really loved my experience LookFantastic. Just because one of the numbers was printed incorrectly, for transparency, they did offer me a partial refund. I thought that was quite kind.

Comparing this to the ASOS Beauty Advent Calendar, I'd pick the ASOS one.
