In 2019 my siblings and I were lucky enough to visit Japan with my Aunty. I'm telling you now, this is a core memory for me, Japan was soooo much fun. We spent our time between Osaka and Kyoto doing most of the touristy things you can think of when visiting Japan.

We landed in Kansai Airport at night and headed towards our hotel in Namba. The flight was great, I remember having a whole row to myself, sipping on my Ribena and eating Famous Amos cookies. It was quite easy to navigate the public transportation in Japan. The only hiccup I remember is not knowing how to buy a train ticket, putting money in and pressing something random on the screen, going to the English speaking counter, telling them I was trying to get to XXX, them telling me I bought the totally wrong ticket, then they just gave me money to buy a new ticket? How kind.

Once we were situated in our hotel, we decided to adventure out to see if there was anything to snack on. We ended up heading into 7eleven. It was EXACTLY like the youtube videos!!!

The next day we woke up to our first full day in Osaka. There's this amazing pass called the Osaka Amazing Pass. It grants you free public transport, free entry to like a bunch of places (all tourist highlights) and amazing experiences. Pretty much most of the places I talk about while I was in Osaka was granted by the pass.

We headed to the Cup Noodle Museum first. You get to make your own cup noodles including decorating the cup, choosing your fillings and putting it in like a carry bag of sorts. My Aunty totally put the cup in the inflatable bag upside down, at the time, it was literally the funniest thing and I remember my brother, sister and I just cracking up about it.

On the way there, we passed by a Takoyaki stand and Takashimaya (Department store in Japan). I remember going to Takashimaya by myself sometime during the trip and heading into the Beauty department where I bought my first ever Dior product. When I think about it, I'm sure that this is where my affinity was born. I can only blame myself! HAHA

Then, we headed to the Umeda Sky Building where I chose to have a Peroni on top of Osaka city...instead of an Asahi...so stupid. Anyways, I think it was a public holiday or something, the picture doesn't do it justice but it was PACKED. Also, that's a $10 peach and a $32 bag of grapes.

At night we headed to Dotonbori, the famous strip of restaurants and food stalls. That steak you see there? Kobe beef. Expensive? Very.

Also I'm just going to claim this, I think I discovered strong zeros in Japan way before they became a trend here.

Just kidding, anyways. Day 3 in Japan, we visited Osaka Castle and the beautiful gardens surrounding.

Okay okay okay, this was my FAVOURITE part of the trip! AHHH the fresh fruit from the market. The melon was so good, we had some grilled seafood and a whole box of strawberries! Insane
